Accel Entertainment recently made a major impact on the American gambling sector by purchasing Century Gaming for an impressive $1.642 billion. This strategic maneuver considerably broadens Accel’s presence nationwide, taking advantage of the gaming industry’s post-pandemic revival.

Accel, recognized for its operation of video gaming terminals, has been experiencing a period of success, as evidenced by their robust first-quarter earnings report. The incorporation of Century Gaming is projected to further propel their expansion, injecting renewed energy into their business activities.

Century brings significant assets to the partnership, including a vast network exceeding 8,300 gaming terminals distributed across more than 900 locations in Montana and Nevada. These strategically positioned venues are situated in high-volume areas such as bars, taverns, truck stops, and convenience store chains.

Furthermore, this acquisition enhances Accel’s portfolio by integrating design and manufacturing capabilities through Grand Vision Gaming (GVG) and incorporating Century’s popular loyalty programs, i-Rewards and Gamblers Bonus.

The executive team at Century, comprising CEO Steve Arntzen, CFO Heidi Schmalz, and GVG Managing Director Merle Frank, will maintain their leadership roles, steering the company into its next phase as part of the Accel organization.

Arntzen conveyed his excitement about the collaboration, remarking, “Accel represents the ideal strategic ally for us to expedite our growth trajectory as we persist in supplying the gaming market with cutting-edge technological advancements.” He underscored their dedication to delivering exceptional products and services, adding, “I am filled with pride to continue directing our dynamic team as we embark on this new chapter under the Accel banner, furnishing our operators and players with the prime locations, top-tier products, and world-class support that define our reputation.”

The head of Accel, Andy Rubenstein, expressed excitement about the business combination, remarking, “This collaboration with Century presents a remarkable chance to broaden our footprint in the Western United States.”

Rubenstein added, “Steve, Heidi, and Mel have cultivated an exceptional group at Century. Their guidance and comprehensive knowledge of this sector make them the ideal collaborators to propel our expansion plan.”
