The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that internet service providers (ISPs) prohibit access to five additional foreign gambling websites that are allegedly operating unlawfully in Australia.
The ACMA asserts that Grand Rush, Jackpot Jill, Koala Royal, National Casino, and Juicy Stakes have been functioning in defiance of Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act of 2001.
The ACMA conducted inquiries into each website after receiving numerous complaints.
“The ACMA advises consumers that even if a service seems legitimate, it is improbable that it possesses essential customer safeguards,” the ACMA stated. “This implies that Australians utilizing illicit gambling services are at risk of financial losses.”
The ACMA commenced issuing blocking requests upon acquiring new enforcement capabilities in November 2019. As of the present time, 295 gambling websites suspected of operating illicitly in Australia have been blocked.
Since the ACMA initiated the enforcement of new regulations concerning illegal overseas gambling in 2017, over 140 unlicensed services have withdrawn from the Australian market.
“Website blocking presents a valuable opportunity to enhance awareness of illegal gambling services through messages that appear when individuals attempt to access the websites,” the ACMA further noted.

The new requests aim at Aussie Casino Hex, Australia OK Casinos, Aussie Online Pokies, Pokies, Australian Casino Club, Australian Gambling, and True Blue Casinos. Internet service providers are being asked to restrict access to these websites.
